The Wind
Suddenly I hear notes from a distant
And perches over my ears
There's a storm arriving
Barging through my stairs
As stone would, I froze
As feather, my senses light
To be weighed down by my weightlessness
Confusions they reside
And I turn to claim and claim what is mine
The wind came in and blew on by
Just a touch and gone
It wasn't mine to find
It wasn't mine to find
Obstinate as I was
I dug my heels
Move, I shall not
And kept my recollection
Of what I called a thought
Years and years I gawked about
And years and years I yearned
And years and years I waited
For the foolish wind's return
Suddenly I hear notes from a distant
And perches over my ears
There's a storm arriving
Barging through my stairs
As stone would, I froze
As feather, my senses light
To be weighed down by my weightlessness
Confusions they reside
And I turn to claim and claim what is mine
The wind came in and blew on by
Just a touch and gone
It wasn't mine to find
It wasn't mine to find
Obstinate as I was
I dug my heels
Move, I shall not
And kept my recollection
Of what I called a thought
Years and years I gawked about
And years and years I yearned
And years and years I waited
For the foolish wind's return
